Costa Rica La Candelilla Coffee



The Costa Rica La Candelilla Coffee is a premium Costa Rican coffee from the Tarrazu region. This specific coffee contains two varietals, Cattura and Catuai, which are often mixed in blends because they are usually grown together. This prevents the spread of coffee disease and gives the farmer the ability to increase the yield and quality of the coffee. This micro-lot coffee is from a small family-owned farm that has deep roots in Costa Rica's coffee production history. Finca La Candelila opened in 2000 and has grown to be one the largest farms in the country. They are recognized as one of the first micro mills in Costa Rica. A micro mill is a family or community of coffee cherry processing stations. We met with Marcia, one of the owners of the farm, who told us “This started out as a legacy, from generation to generation, today all of the brothers work together.”
