How to Make an AeroPress Coffee

We recommend using spring water when brewing your AeroPress Coffee as this will render the best cup of coffee.

WHAT YOU NEED:

  • AeroPress Brewer

  • AeroPress filter
  • Grinder
  • 17 grams (2.5 tablespoons) of coffee
  • 205 degrees water
  • Spoon
  • Timer
  • Mug
  • Ratio of 1:16 coffee-to-water ratio, though this can be adjusted based on taste preferences

    1. Grind 17 grams or 2.5 tablespoons of your coffee as fine as table salt.
    2. Place the filter in the basket of the AeroPress. Preheat the brewer by rinsing the filter with hot water.
    3. Assemble the AeroPress by lightly pushing the plunger into the main brew chamber (the one with numbers) without pushing the plunger all the way in, barely an inch in.
    4. Place the AeroPress upside down, with the numbers flipped, on a scale and tare. Then place coffee grounds into the brewing chamber.
    5. Start by putting double the amount of hot water than grounds, so if you use 17g of coffee, then saturate grounds with 34g of water.
    6. Make sure grounds are fully saturated and blooming. Slightly agitate the grounds with the end of the measuring spoon the Aeropress comes with.
    7. Fill the remainder of the brew chamber with the rest of your water. Lock the filter cap in place on top.
    8. After about a minute, flip the AeroPress onto your mug and press the plunger down (not too hard to ensure you don’t break your mug) into the chamber. Once you’ve heard a nice hissing sound come from the AeroPress, your coffee is ready... Enjoy!)
