Our Story

Our inspiration came from frequent trips to our homeland of Costa Rica, where we constantly enjoyed coffee with tremendous flavor. At the same time, we knew most people in the U.S. were satisfied with tasteless, bitter coffee and were unaware that coffee could be an exotic experience.

This is why we started Volcanica Coffee, to focus on high-quality single origin coffees and help educate consumers about what coffee can truly be.

Who Are We?

Volcanica Coffee is a specialty coffee roaster focused on exotic coffees. We are committed to offering only the finest quality ingredients from volcanic regions around the world.

The mineral-rich soil from these areas produces coffee that is wonderfully aromatic and remarkable in taste. We carry over 150 different coffees, including single-origin, estate, peaberry, and decaffeinated and flavored coffees.

Always fresh

We fresh roast coffee every week in our state-of-the-art facility in Atlanta. Our experienced roast masters understand the nuances and delicacies involved in roasting different varieties. We quickly ship, usually within one business day, so it arrives to you freshly roasted.

REFINED flavors

We source our beans from the finest crops in the best volcanic regions from around the world. Each region offers distinct and various flavor notes that come alive in your cup. We have a stringent Q & A and all of our coffees are Kosher Certified by the Atlanta Kosher Commission.

Family Owned

Volcanica Coffee is a family-owned business with all members involved in running the specialty coffee brand and importing the highest quality beans worldwide.

Coffee has been in our family for at least two generations, starting when our mother and grandfather would assist in harvesting the coffee beans high in the mountains of Costa Rica.

Sustainably Sourced

Giving Back

We believe in giving back to the less fortunate and donate 1% of sales from our website to charity: water.

charity: water is on a mission to help bring clean, safe drinking water to every person on the planet.

The non-profit organization raises money for a broad range of water projects, from wells to rainwater harvestings, to piped water systems to BioSand Filters. They then work with local partners to build sustainable water projects in developing countries. Many of these projects are located where we source our coffee.

Over seven million people now have access to clean water through projects funded by charity: water.
