Nepal: Your Generosity Brings Clean Water to Thousands

Access to clean water is now a reality for thousands of people in Nepal — all thanks to you.

Because of your purchases, Volcanica Coffee was able to sponsor clean water projects through our partnership with charity: water. Your generosity directly helped fund 18 piped system tap stands, bringing life-changing access to clean, safe water for families in need.

Your donation was part of the $2,500,000 granted to Helvetas Nepal, which ultimately funded 5,644 water projects and served 40,718 people in total.

As you read this, take a moment to picture the men, women, and children whose daily lives have changed forever. Some of them have waited their entire lives for this moment — and you made it possible.

Local Partners Making a Lasting Difference

Our local partner, Helvetas Nepal, ensured that every household received direct access to clean water. For business owners like Amrita, that access has been truly life-changing.

For nearly 20 years, Amrita and her husband operated a small hotel without direct access to water. Every morning, at least three family members would collect water — an exhausting routine that stole precious time from their day. Eventually, they began paying others to fetch water, but the cost cut into their profits.

Thanks to Helvetas Nepal, the family’s hotel now has its own supply line. They’re saving both time and money — enough to begin renovations. Two toilets have already been added, and two rooms will soon feature attached bathrooms.

Amrita summed it up perfectly: “Life is easier, and we are happier now!”
