Mocha Java Coffee

Size Guide

Mocha Java Coffee is the world's oldest recorded and most famous coffee blend. We recently kicked up the quality to make it 100% authentic. The winy Yemen coffee is coupled with the full-bodied, spicy coffee from Java. This blend is distinguishable by its complex spiciness, smooth body, notes of tangerine, and intense aroma with sweet chocolate overtones. These coffees are in limited supply and few roasters make authentic Mocha Java Coffee blends and instead mix in any type of coffee beans.

The Origins of Mocha Java

Mocha and Java have a great history in the world of coffee and have come to be generic terms when describing coffee in general. The reason is that coffee from these two areas was among the main coffee distribution ports during the 17th century. Mocha was the world’s first commercial coffee, and Java was considered second. Java Island is located in Indonesia and was one of the first famous coffees and one of the first coffees to be cultivated in Indonesia starting in 1699. The Dutch colonized and set up a commercial coffee growing and distribution. Mocha, also spelled as Mocha or Mukha, is a town in southwestern Yemen, on the Red Sea and the Tihāmah coastal plain. Yemen’s most renowned historic port was the coffee exporting center for coffees throughout Africa.

The old port is now in ruins, but the name carries on. Both areas exported excellent coffee and the mixture of Indonesian and African coffees complement each other for an excellent cup. As a result, the Mocha Java Blend for Europeans in the 18th century combined their coffee-growing world's extreme ends.
