Q: There is mentioned in the internet that decaf coffee affects your cholesterol level?
A: It appears that those finding did not identify the type of decaffeination process that was used that led to increases in LDL. I do know that the Swiss Water Process is a patented, non-chemical method of decaffeination, and is the best choice for gourmet coffee. Most of the major brands are chemically decaffeinated, even if it says “naturally decaffeinated” on the container. It is possible that some of the chemicals used by other brands led to the increases in cholesterol in the previous findings. I do not believe that a water process will increase it.
Paper coffee filters remove some of the coffee in cholesterol so I recommend that you used paper and not a metallic coffee filter which are included in some coffee makers.
